Spanish Football League: Barcelona Wins Against Sevilla

Barcelona defeated Sevilla 4-1 on Sunday, 09/02/2025, in the 23rd round of the Spanish football league, narrowing the gap with the leaders Real Madrid and Atletico, who drew 1-1 on Saturday, 08/02/2025.

Barcelona now has 48 points, one point behind Atletico in second place and two points behind third-placed Real Madrid. Goals were scored by Robert Lewandowski at 7', substitute Fermin Lopez at 47', Brazilian star Rafinha at 55', and substitute Eric Garcia at 89'. Sevilla's only goal was scored by Robin Vargas at 8'.

Despite Barcelona's Fermin being sent off in the 62nd minute, Sevilla failed to capitalize, remaining at 28 points in 13th place.

This is Sevilla's first and biggest home defeat in the Spanish league since November 3, 2024, against Real Sociedad.
