Sisi Urges Trump to End War in Gaza and Allow Aid into the Sector

Sisi said in a televised speech: "I make a public appeal to all countries of the world, to the European Union, to the United States of America, to our brothers in the Arab region, that we are making every effort during this difficult period to stop the war, allow aid to enter, and end this crisis".
He added: "I make a special appeal to President Trump, because of my personal estimation of him, his capabilities, his status, he is able to stop the war, allow aid to enter, and end this suffering".
The latest round of indirect ceasefire talks in Doha between Israel and Hamas collapsed last week without any agreement in sight, as mediators faced difficulty in bridging the gap between the two sides.
Sisi also confirmed that Egypt has been working to bring in as much aid as possible to Gaza in recent months, but coordination between Israel and Egypt is necessary to achieve this.
He stated: "We cannot prevent aid from reaching the sector, but its entry requires coordination with the other side".
Aid trucks began moving towards Gaza from Egypt on Sunday, after months of increasing international pressure and warnings from humanitarian organizations about the spread of famine in the small coastal sector due to the Israeli blockade.
