Sisi and Al Thani: No to the Occupation of Gaza and the Solution is an Independent Palestinian State

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi held talks in Cairo with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, dedicated to discussing the developments in the Gaza Strip in light of Israel's decision to militarily occupy the area.
Egyptian presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shenawy stated that the meeting emphasized Egyptian-Qatari-American coordination to reach an agreement that ensures an immediate ceasefire, the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, as well as the release of prisoners and hostages.
Both sides stressed their rejection of the military occupation of the area or the displacement of Palestinians from their land, affirming that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to international legitimacy resolutions, represents the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
President Sisi also emphasized the urgent need to begin the reconstruction of Gaza following the ceasefire, pointing to preparations for the International Cairo Conference for Reconstruction in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.
