Yemen Ship 'Eternity' Sinks After Houthi Attacks off Yemen.. Fears of Environmental Disaster

Maritime security sources informed Reuters agency today, Wednesday 9th of July, that the cargo ship 'Eternity C' flying the flag of Liberia and managed by a Greek company, sank following an attack by the Houthi group off the Yemeni coast, while efforts to rescue its crew are still ongoing. Two sources confirmed that at least five people have been rescued from the crew so far.
In a related context, an official at the British maritime security company 'Ambrey' confirmed on Tuesday the sinking of the cargo ship 'Magic Seas', also flying the flag of Liberia, a day after the Houthis announced targeting the ship in the Red Sea using 'firearms, rocket shells, and explosive drones'.
On the other hand, the Yemeni Minister of Environment warned in a statement to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath channel on Tuesday of serious environmental consequences due to the sinking of 'Magic Seas', indicating that the ship was carrying approximately '35 thousand tons of highly dangerous ammonium nitrate'.
