In the presence of President Ahmed Shar'a, a memorandum of understanding was signed today between the Ministry of Information and Al-Maha International Company to establish the "Damascus Gateway" city for media and art production in Syria.

Minister of Information Dr. Hamza Mustafa said in a speech at the People's Palace in Damascus during the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding: Today we are signing a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Information and Al-Maha International Company for artistic production to launch a promising strategic project named Damascus Gateway, the first integrated project for a media, film, and tourism production city in Syria.

The Minister of Information added: The cost of this large project is estimated at no less than one and a half billion US dollars and comes within the country's strategic directions to attract quality projects with deep developmental impact.

He explained that the project will be built on an area of approximately 2 million square meters within Damascus and will include outdoor studios that mimic the architectural style of historical cities in the Arab and Islamic world, as well as indoor studios equipped with the latest broadcasting technologies.

The Minister of Information pointed out that the project is expected to provide more than 4000 direct job opportunities and 9000 seasonal job opportunities, emphasizing the Syrian media's role as a partner in development and expressing the new Syria.

On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Maha International Company, Mohammed Al-Anzi, said: On behalf of Al-Maha Company and the team working on the Damascus Gateway city project, I am honored to participate in this historic event in the journey of building the new Syria and I congratulate all Syrians on the liberation of their country and its return to them, and our return to its embrace.

Al-Anzi added: I extend my sincere thanks to the Presidency, the Syrian government, and the Ministry of Information for the warm welcome we have received, reflecting the spirit of the state deeply rooted in its values, open to creativity, and eager to turn opportunities into achievements.
