The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources confirmed that the resumption of oil and natural gas extraction from northeastern Syria was based on a previously existing contract, which has been legally reviewed and amended to align with the interests of the Syrian people, initially for a period of three months.

Ahmad Al-Suleiman, the Ministry's Public Relations official, stated to "SANA" that "a comprehensive review of the contract has been conducted to ensure its compliance with national laws, meet the needs of the local market, and enhance the operation of power generation stations."

Al-Suleiman added, "The Ministry will continue to work on providing the necessary energy through all possible means to meet the citizens' needs and improve the services provided to them."

The Syrian Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday, February 22, the agreement with the SDF to deliver 15,000 barrels of oil per day to the interim Syrian government."
