After a sudden health setback that led to the cancellation of her weekend concert, Colombian star Shakira announced that she will resume her world tour, confirming that she will meet her audience again at the "Estadio Nacional" in Lima, Peru, on Monday evening.
On her Instagram account, Shakira expressed her great gratitude to her Peruvian fans, confirming that the concert will start at 8:15 PM local time.
Upon her return to the stage, Shakira amazed her audience with a stunning performance, appearing in elegant outfits and energetic dances that ignited the atmosphere. She did not hide her immense happiness with this warm reception, as she posted a series of photos from the concert accompanied by a touching message saying:
"What an amazing Peruvian audience! All this love and attention you have given me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Peru, you are amazing! I love you!"
Shakira was hospitalized over the weekend due to stomach issues, forcing her to cancel her Sunday concert.
Despite her deep sadness for not being able to meet her fans on that day, her quick recovery allowed her to return to the stage and resume her tour schedule as planned, preparing to perform in Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Argentina during February and March.
However, amidst these events, Shakira faced a blatant violation of her privacy, as her medical records were leaked on social media, sparking a wave of outrage among her fans.
The Peruvian authorities swiftly moved to announce an official investigation to uncover the circumstances of this leak, warning of strict fines up to $430,000 on the party responsible for the breach.
The spokesperson for the Peruvian Health Regulatory Authority, Ruby Copas, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for this violation. Meanwhile, the "Delgado" clinic, where Shakira received treatment, quickly issued an official statement expressing deep regret and describing the incident as a "serious ethical violation."
The clinic clarified that they have identified the individuals responsible for the leak and have already begun disciplinary actions against them, pending the final results of the investigations, which are expected to last for 25 days before announcing legal penalties.
