Self-Administration in Statement: "Syrian Territorial Unity is a Non-Negotiable Principle"

The Self-Administration in northeastern Syria stated, "We clearly declare that Syrian territorial unity is a non-negotiable principle," in a statement issued today, Sunday.

The statement said, "The demands we present from a democratic, pluralistic system, social justice, and a constitution that guarantees the rights of all components are not new demands."

The statement added, "Rejecting our demands and labeling them as separatist is a deliberate distortion of the reality of the Syrian struggle against tyranny," and described the recent meetings with the Syrian government as a "very important step towards launching a serious Syrian-Syrian dialogue process."

The Administration emphasized that sitting at one table among Syrian forces to discuss existential issues is a "political and historical achievement."

It continued, "Rebuilding trust among Syrian actors has become a national necessity, and overcoming it can only be achieved through responsible dialogue."
