The security forces in Latakia governorate carried out a qualitative operation that resulted in the arrest of pilot general Riad Abdullah Youssef, who hails from the town of Termanin in Idlib countryside, in cooperation between specialized security units and the anti-terrorism branch.

Internal security chief in Latakia, Major General Abdul Aziz Hilal Al-Ahmad, confirmed that investigations proved Youssef's involvement in overseeing airstrikes during which massacres were committed against unarmed civilians, noting that he held high military positions up to the command of the Dumair military airport.

Al-Ahmad emphasized that this operation comes as part of the Ministry of Interior's commitment to pursue anyone whose hands are stained with the blood of the innocent, affirming that justice will reach them no matter how long it takes, and that the security forces are determined to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

This operation is considered a pivotal step in the path of national justice, and a clear message that crimes against civilians will not go unpunished, amid ongoing efforts to protect the security of the homeland and uphold the dignity of citizens.
