Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, confirmed on Saturday his country's readiness to provide all possible support to the Syrian people and enhance their national unity. During a joint press conference held in Damascus with the Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates, Asaad Al Shibli, he stated: "I am pleased to be present with you in Damascus today, where I am honored to convey the greetings of my master, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect them, to His Excellency President Bashar al-Assad, wishing fraternal Syria further security, stability, and prosperity." He added: "The historical ties between the Kingdom and Syria reflect the depth of the strong relations that have always been based on supporting stability and enhancing economic development opportunities, befitting Syria and its people." The Saudi Minister pointed out the ongoing coordination with sisterly and friendly countries, including the United States, to enhance security, stability, and prosperity in the region. He said: "The Kingdom reaffirms its steadfast position in supporting the unity and stability of Syria, and supporting anything that reflects the joy of the Syrian people in achieving their aspirations." Regarding the economy, Prince Faisal bin Farhan announced that both sides are working on launching promising investment and commercial projects, especially in the energy, trade, and telecommunications sectors, noting a significant interest from Saudi investors in Syria, based on the principles of partnership and mutual interests. He mentioned that Syria possesses many opportunities and capabilities, and the Syrian people are capable, "with the help of God, of rebuilding their country with the hands of their sons," confirming that Syrians have proven their creativity and success in various countries around the world, and today they have a real opportunity to revive their homeland. The Saudi Minister concluded his speech by emphasizing that "the fraternal and historical relations between our two sisterly countries are a fundamental pillar for a bright future, and we are confident that the future will be better for Syria and its people, God willing." The Saudi Foreign Minister had discussed, on Wednesday, with the American envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, ways to support the Syrian Arab Republic in humanitarian and economic fields.
