Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak confirmed today, Monday, the importance of maintaining Syria's unity and enhancing stability within it, during their meeting in the capital Beirut.
According to the Lebanese news agency, Salam urged the American side to "fulfill its responsibility in pressuring Israel to stop its hostile actions, withdraw from the five points it occupies in southern Lebanon, and release the prisoners."
For his part, Barak praised the recent decisions of the Lebanese government, offering condolences for the fallen Lebanese soldiers in the south last week.
