Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that his country appreciates Washington's responsible approach to avoiding direct military confrontation between America and Russia.
Lavrov expressed his optimism today, Friday, about America's openness to a dialogue based on mutual respect, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, which conveyed the statements through its website.
He added: "America recognizes the current reality surrounding Ukraine," noting that it seeks to take the root causes of the crisis into account.
He confirmed that Russia is waiting for Ukraine's response to the proposal to establish working groups to reach sustainable understandings.
This came after President Vladimir Putin expressed his satisfaction with the results of the negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul recently and the exchange of prisoners, noting that the most important thing is to remove the root causes of the conflict.
