Russia is seeking to launch a military recruitment campaign for the spring, targeting 160,000 young men aged between 18 and 30, according to a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin on Monday. The army has confirmed that new recruits will not be sent to Ukraine, where Russian soldiers have been fighting since February 2022. This recruitment campaign will take place twice a year, in spring and fall, starting today, as per the presidential decree published on Monday. The Ministry of Defense stated that the upcoming recruitment campaign is unrelated to the military operation in Ukraine.
