"Royal Semiramis" hotel in Damascus is raising the standards of luxury tourism in Syria.
Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salehani inaugurated the "Royal Semiramis" hotel in the heart of Damascus this evening after its rehabilitation to meet the latest international hospitality standards. The event was attended by the Ministers of Transport and Communications, as well as assistant ministers, ambassadors, and businessmen. This opening marks the beginning of a series of luxurious tourism projects planned in Syria, signaling a new phase of investments in the tourism sector. The government is working on facilitating procedures to attract foreign and Syrian investors through measures such as the single window principle, amending the investment law, and customs and tax exemptions. Al-Salehani also anticipates a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting Syria, with expectations reaching 5 million tourists and expatriates next summer. An investment forum will be organized soon to showcase new investment opportunities in the tourism sector. The "Royal Semiramis" hotel, with 118 luxurious rooms and multi-space suites, is strategically located in the heart of the capital Damascus, overlooking historical landmarks such as Old Damascus and Mount Qasioun. The hotel offers upscale services including a globally inspired Syrian restaurant, the "Queens Lounge" café, and an Asian restaurant named "Marco Polo." It also features an exclusive club for ambassadors and businessmen called the "Wanderers Club," in addition to modern meeting rooms and sports facilities including a rooftop pool and club. The opening comes after the hotel's rehabilitation according to the highest international standards, adding a qualitative touch to luxury hospitality in Syria, enhancing the country's status as a global tourist destination after years of challenges.
