Andy Byron, the CEO of the American technology company "Astronomer", announced his resignation after a video clip surfaced during a Coldplay concert that sparked widespread controversy.
The video, which was widely circulated on TikTok and garnered over 5.8 million views within hours, shows Byron hugging Kristin Cabot, the company's HR director, on the stadium's giant screen before they awkwardly flee, leading to accusations of infidelity.
The company stated in a LinkedIn post that Byron did not adhere to the standards and values that represent the company's culture, indicating that the board placed him on leave and launched an official investigation into the incident.
Reports indicate that Byron owns about 5% of the company's shares valued at around $1.29 billion, meaning his stake is approximately $67 million, and any legal settlement could affect this stake.
Cabot, who joined the company last October and serves as the Chief People Officer with an annual salary exceeding $650,000, was seen alongside Byron in the video.
Meanwhile, speculations are arising about the possibility of Byron's wife filing for divorce, especially after she removed the family name from her social media account, potentially paving the way for a significant financial settlement.
