Saudi Arabia achieved exceptional success in the tourism sector during the first quarter of 2025, topping the world in terms of growth in international tourist revenues compared to the same period in 2019, according to the World Tourism Barometer report issued by the United Nations World Tourism Organization in May 2025.
Saudi Arabia ranked third globally in terms of growth in international tourist numbers, and second in the Middle East, recording a 102% increase in international visitor numbers during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2019, surpassing the global average growth of 3% and the Middle East growth of 44%.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) confirmed that this global achievement reflects the success of the kingdom's relentless efforts to develop the tourism sector and diversify the economy, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to make the kingdom a leading tourist destination worldwide.
This rapid growth comes after Saudi Arabia exceeded the milestone of 100 million local and international tourists in 2024, enhancing its position as a distinctive tourist destination with huge investment opportunities and promising projects across the country.
The latest figures and reports confirm Saudi Arabia's continued achievement of record numbers that enhance its regional and global position, reflecting its strategic vision and diligent efforts to attract tourists from around the world, while developing tourism infrastructure and improving service quality.
