Activists on the social media platform "X" circulated a video clip early this morning on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, showing the raising of the Israeli flag at the Al-Ankoud roundabout in the Syrian city of Al-Suwayda by unknown individuals.
Shortly after, another video emerged showing the burning of the Israeli flag, sparking widespread reactions on social media platforms.
These events come amidst Israeli military escalation in Syria, as the Israeli air force carried out an airstrike yesterday evening on the coastal city of Tartus in western Syria. The Israeli army also announced the bombing of a military site in the Qardaha area in the Latakia province, describing it as a "weapons depot belonging to the former Syrian regime."
On the other hand, instructions from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz to protect the residents of Jaramana south of Damascus have sparked widespread condemnation in Syrian circles.
