After receiving Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara in Qatar today, Tuesday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said: "We are pleased with the visit of President Ahmed Al-Shara and the discussions that covered various areas of bilateral cooperation."

He added: "The relations between Qatar and Syria are witnessing development and growth thanks to the mutual keenness to enhance and develop them, and we are working together to elevate the relations to a level that meets the aspirations of both peoples and serves common interests."

Sheikh Tamim also expressed his hope that "these efforts will contribute to achieving stability, prosperity, and development for the Syrian people."

Earlier today, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaaban commented on the visit on his "X" platform account, saying: "Today we accompany His Excellency President Ahmed Al-Shara on his first visit to Qatar, the country that stood by the Syrian people from the beginning and remained supportive of their just cause without hesitation."

The visit is an important step towards enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, aiming to improve the Syrian situation and overcome the sensitive phase that Syria has been experiencing recently.
