Yesterday, Qatar signed the largest aircraft deal with the American company Boeing in favor of Qatar Airways during the visit of US President Donald Trump to Doha. The White House confirmed that the deal is worth approximately $200 billion, including 160 confirmed Boeing aircraft and 50 options for future aircraft. Trump mentioned during the signing ceremony that the agreement includes up to 210 Boeing aircraft, reflecting the substantial size of the deal. Qatar Airways also announced that the order includes wide-body Boeing aircraft such as the 787 Dreamliner and 777X. Additionally, Qatar Airways also signed an agreement with General Electric Aviation to purchase 400 engines, including 60 GE9X engines and 260 GEnx engines, along with other engines for operating the next generation of Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft. The deal includes 130 787 Dreamliner aircraft, 30 777X aircraft, one of the largest twin-engine aircraft in the world, with options to purchase an additional 50 aircraft of the same models. The signing ceremony in Doha was attended by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and US President Donald Trump, emphasizing the importance of this agreement in enhancing cooperation between the two countries in aviation and defense sectors. This deal is the largest in Boeing's history, with the company's stock rising by 1.83% to $207.15 per share in the latest transactions after the announcement of this agreement. On another note, the White House report highlighted the expansion of Qatari-American relations in several areas such as aviation, energy, infrastructure, security, defense, as well as new areas like green economy, digital transformation, and renewable energy. The Qatari news agency report mentioned that the trade volume between the two countries reached about 20 billion Qatari Riyals in 2024, with the United States being one of the largest foreign investors in Qatar, with over 800 American companies operating in the Qatari market. Qatari investments in the United States exceeded $10 billion, focusing on vital sectors such as technology, energy, real estate, and financial services.
