Russian President Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed a strategic partnership agreement today, Wednesday, at a ceremony broadcast on state television. The Russian news agency "Interfax" reported that the two leaders discussed energy and oil issues during their talks in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier on Wednesday told reporters that the strategic agreement would be a "highly important and significant framework document," but did not provide details. Maduro arrived in Moscow today with a high-level government and military delegation to later participate in the events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
