Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone call with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, during which he informed him about the results of the Russian-American summit held in Alaska with American President Donald Trump, which focused on ways to reach a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis.
Rahmon expressed his support for diplomatic efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the conflict, affirming his country's stance alongside efforts that ensure regional and international stability.
According to a statement from the Kremlin, the conversation also addressed the enhancement of bilateral relations between Russia and Tajikistan, as well as preparations for Putin's upcoming official visit to Dushanbe, and the preparations for the Central Asia and Russia summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States scheduled to be held next October in the Tajik capital.
These communications come within the framework of a broad Russian diplomatic movement to strengthen its ties with Central Asian countries, at a time when Moscow seeks to solidify its traditional partnerships amid rapid geopolitical transformations.
