Dozens of citizens held a protest in Al-Karama Square in the center of Sweida city without prior invitation or planning, expressing their objection and rejection of the statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister "Netanyahu." A call for a demonstration in the same location tomorrow is still in place.
According to a local website in the province, "a large number of activists expressed their discontent with Damascus ignoring the recent statements, especially since Netanyahu's messages were directed at the Damascus government, which is obligated to respond to these statements as the state's representative."
The activists considered that "the continued disregard by the Damascus government for the statements, while asking the people of Sweida to justify what they did not say, is nothing but an attempt to shift responsibilities that should not continue in this complex situation."
According to the activists, "asking the government to take a stance on one hand and calling on the people in Sweida to protest on the other hand are not conflicting but rather complement each other."
