President Aoun: Formation of Lebanese-Syrian committees to address borders and displaced persons.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun announced the formation of joint committees between Lebanon and Syria to discuss pending issues between the two countries, including demarcation of land and sea borders, and the file of Syrian refugees for economic reasons.
This came during his meeting with a delegation from the French Senate at Baabda Palace, where he emphasized the decision to "confine arms to the Lebanese state."
Aoun explained that "the Lebanese army is deployed on the northeastern borders and is carrying out its full duties, also combating terrorism, preventing smuggling operations, and maintaining internal security," stressing that "the decision to confine arms to the Lebanese state has been made, and reverting to the language of war is not allowed."
The Lebanese President also addressed the Israeli withdrawal from the five hills in the south, considering it "a necessity to expedite the completion of the Lebanese army's deployment to the borders, where the state alone is responsible for border security."
He concluded by affirming that the joint committees with Syria will work on addressing pending issues "in a way that serves the interests of both countries and peoples."
