Today, the President of the Syrian Republic, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shar'a, arrived in the Turkish city of Antalya to participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025, held under the theme "Adhering to Diplomacy in a Divided World" from April 11 to 13, with wide participation from world leaders, ministers, and international experts.

This participation marks Syria's first high-level official representation at the forum in years, reflecting a significant shift in Syrian foreign policy and the new government's efforts to rebuild international relations and enhance Syria's role on the global diplomatic stage.

Anticipated Diplomatic Meetings and Busy Agenda

President Al-Shar'a is expected to hold several bilateral meetings with leaders and officials from countries including Iraq, Turkey, Arab, and Western nations, to discuss key issues such as security cooperation, counterterrorism, refugee matters, and international sanctions imposed on Syria.

The forum, in its fourth edition, will address a range of important international issues including food security, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, climate, and humanitarian aid, with the participation of over 20 heads of state and government, and 50 foreign ministers from around the world.

A New Step in Syria's Return to the International Scene

President Al-Shar'a's visit comes months after assuming office, as part of a strategic vision to restore Syria's regional and international standing and establish communication channels with the international community after years of isolation resulting from the policies of the previous regime.

It is expected that the President will deliver a speech during the forum, presenting Syria's new vision on regional and international challenges, emphasizing the importance of peaceful solutions and international cooperation as a strategic choice for a more stable and prosperous future.
