Phone Call Between Putin and Mohammed bin Salman: Coordination on Ukraine and Energy After His Talks with Trump

The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which he informed him of the results of his recent discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Kremlin's statement indicated that the two sides discussed issues of political, economic, and investment cooperation, and affirmed their appreciation for joint work within the framework of the "OPEC+" alliance, given its pivotal role in ensuring the stability of the global energy market.
The call came after a lengthy conversation between Putin and Trump that lasted about 40 minutes, during which they discussed developments in the Ukrainian file, emphasizing the importance of continuing direct negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, with the possibility of raising the level of representation in upcoming negotiation rounds.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov noted that Putin valued Trump's personal efforts in seeking solutions that could lead to a long-term settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump had hosted Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and European Union leaders at the White House on Monday and later did not rule out holding a trilateral meeting that includes Putin and Zelensky if the negotiations made significant progress.
