Paris Witnesses the Launch of the Founding Conference of the Syrian Community Association in France

The founding conference of the General Secretariat of the Syrian Community Association in France kicked off yesterday in the French capital, Paris, with the participation of about 250 members of the community representing various professional and cultural fields, including a group of prominent lawyers and legal experts.

The conference focused on presenting the association's objectives and setting out its working mechanisms, in addition to conducting democratic elections to choose board members, with the aim of establishing an organizational structure that fairly and effectively represents Syrians in France.

Lawyer Qasim Mar'i, head of the elections committee, stated that the process took place in an "exceptional" atmosphere characterized by transparency and integrity, noting that his participation and his team of lawyers coming from Belgium "reflected the community's keenness to establish the foundations of democratic representation."

Mar'i added: "The atmosphere was marked by a spirit of understanding and cooperation among the attendees, confirming the community's need for a unified entity that enhances communication and integration among them."

The elections resulted in the selection of board members from several French cities, including Paris, to be followed soon by the election of the council president and vice president to complete the leadership structure of the association.
