The French Foreign Minister, Jean Noël Barou, said in exclusive statements to Syrian television that achieving justice is considered the only way to achieve moral renaissance in Syria. Barou affirmed France's support for efforts to recover frozen Syrian funds in European banks.
He explained that the Paris conference on Syria will witness the participation of representatives from the Syrian civil society, in addition to international donor entities, with the aim of enhancing support for the Syrians.
Barou pointed out that Syrians in France can visit their country without losing their refugee status and France's international protection, allowing them to communicate with their homeland without legal consequences.
On another note, Barou emphasized that a just peace in Ukraine will not be achieved without a European role in the negotiations, indicating that Europe seeks to provide security guarantees to Ukraine even if it does not join NATO. He added that determining the peace agreement criteria ultimately lies with the Ukrainians.
It is worth mentioning that US President Donald Trump had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where they agreed to start immediate negotiations to end the Russian war in Ukraine, now entering its third year.
