The newspaper "Al-Watan" quoted local sources as saying today, Wednesday, that an armed group attacked the governor of Al-Suwayda, Dr. Mustafa Al-Bakour, while he was in his office at the governorate building in Al-Suwayda.
The sources added that during the attack, the armed group seized the governor's communication devices.
The devices were used to communicate with the Attorney General in Damascus, requesting the release of prisoners with criminal sentences.
According to the sources, after the prisoners were released, the group withdrew from the governorate building, and the governor left the building and headed to Damascus.
It was mentioned that the governor is safe and sound.
