A Spanish court sentenced Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to one year in prison today, Wednesday, after being accused of tax fraud.
The charges were brought against Ancelotti when he was managing Real Madrid in Spain 11 years ago.
The coach is accused of not paying taxes on his image rights income when he was coaching the royal team in 2014.
Rarely does Spanish law require imprisonment for less than two years for a non-violent crime, as long as the accused has not been previously convicted.
