Official: Israeli delegation heads to Qatar for talks on possible ceasefire agreement in Gaza

Pressure is mounting on Netanyahu to agree to a permanent ceasefire and end the war in Gaza, a step opposed by some members of the right-wing coalition while supported by others including Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.
Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Friday that its response to the US-backed Gaza ceasefire proposal was "positive", just a few days after Trump said Israel had agreed to the "necessary conditions to finalize" a 60-day ceasefire.
Hamas mentioned on its official website that "Hamas has completed its internal consultations with Palestinian factions and forces regarding the latest mediators' proposal to stop the aggression against our people in Gaza. The movement has delivered a positive response to the mediators and is fully prepared to immediately engage in negotiations on the implementation mechanism of this framework".
