The leaders of eight countries from the Northern Europe and Baltic region affirmed their support for Ukraine today, Sunday, stating that peace can only be achieved through continuous pressure on Russia to stop its "unlawful" war.
The leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden said in a statement: "We reaffirm the principle that international borders cannot be changed by force."
They added that they will continue to support imposing restrictions on Russia and participating in these punitive measures.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he would meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska to negotiate an end to the war.
