Next September .. Al-Shara' represents Syria at the United Nations General Assembly in New York

The French Press Agency confirmed that Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara' will participate next month in the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, where he will deliver a speech before the international community.

The agency quoted a Syrian Foreign Ministry official on Monday that the General Assembly meeting will be held between September 22 and 30, with the participation of leaders and heads of government from most countries around the world, providing the opportunity for bilateral meetings and sessions to discuss development, peace, and other international issues.

This is the first participation of a Syrian president since 1967, when Nour al-Din al-Atassi represented Syria at the meetings, while neither the former regime's president Bashar al-Assad nor his father Hafez al-Assad has ever attended the General Assembly meetings.
