The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday, Wednesday, the provision of additional financial support amounting to 3 million euros to the initiative 'Food from Ukraine to Syria', which aims to distribute grains to those in need within Syrian territories, as part of joint humanitarian efforts with Ukraine and the World Food Program.
The statement from the ministry's media center, published on the 'X' platform, mentioned that this new financial support contributes to strengthening the affected Ukrainian economy, while providing vital food aid to Syrians affected by successive crises.
The statement also praised the active role played by the World Food Program in implementing this humanitarian initiative.
This step comes within a series of initiatives launched by Ukraine recently to support food security in Syria, where 500 tons of wheat flour were sent at the end of last year, benefiting more than 160,000 people in various Syrian regions, reflecting the depth of humanitarian cooperation between the two parties in facing challenges.
