Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Sunday, that the Israeli army targeted "Abu Ubaida", the official spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in an attack he described as "significant".
This came at the beginning of the Israeli government meeting, where he indicated that the army is awaiting the results of the attack, at a time when no statements have been issued by Hamas or the Al-Qassam Brigades regarding the incident.
Netanyahu clarified in his remarks: "Perhaps there is no one in Hamas who can announce the death of Abu Ubaida at this time," raising questions about the fate of this prominent leader in the movement.
In a related context, Netanyahu pointed out that "the decision to occupy the city of Gaza has already been made, and the Israeli army is implementing this decision," reaffirming the military operations taking place in Gaza.
On another note, Netanyahu addressed the situation in Yemen, saying: "We dealt a severe blow to the Houthis, and this is just the beginning," referring to the recent Israeli airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, which resulted in the deaths of several ministers in the internationally unrecognized Houthi government.
Military developments in the region continue amid increasing tensions between various parties.
