Sources revealed that "more than 7 trucks loaded with money entered the Syrian Central Bank."
The sources pointed out, according to "Al Arabiya," that "a cargo plane coming from Russia arrived at Damascus airport carrying Syrian money."
Reuters quoted diplomatic sources as saying, "Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shar'a asked Russia for money deposited by former regime leader Bashar Al-Assad in Moscow."
However, the sources confirmed that "the Russian delegation that recently visited Damascus informed Al-Shar'a that Assad did not deposit any money in Russia."
Syria is going through a transitional phase after the end of the Assad family regime that lasted for over 60 years, with the exhausted economy remaining one of the biggest challenges.
During the past months, the liquidity crisis has worsened to an unbearable extent, especially with the decline in the exchange rate of the dollar and the manipulation of the black market by currency exchangers.
