Ministry of Interior refers a public security officer to the judiciary for assaulting a driver in Damascus

A video circulated in the city of Damascus showing an individual assaulting a bus driver following a verbal altercation that escalated to the assailant shooting the driver's foot.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the relevant authorities acted immediately and arrested the perpetrator, who was found after investigation to be a recent member of the internal security forces who abused his official capacity to commit the crime.

The Ministry's statement clarified that the perpetrator has been referred to the military judiciary for dismissal from service and accountability, reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to the principle of accountability and its firm rejection of any violations that undermine the dignity of citizens or tarnish the state's prestige.
