Minister of Local Administration and Environment Discusses Enhancing International Cooperation for Development Support and Reconstruction with Foreign Affairs

Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Mohammad Anjarani, held a meeting today at the ministry's headquarters in Damascus, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and a number of directors and specialists, to discuss mechanisms for preparing a practical guide aimed at developing international cooperation procedures and enhancing coordination among relevant entities.
The meeting discussed ways to develop the structure of international cooperation to ensure the central work of the ministry aligns with its administrative units and affiliated governorates, and to prepare a policy map based on accurate data and reliable statistics, paving the way for the development of sustainable development strategies.
Minister Anjarani emphasized the "importance of enhancing international cooperation," noting that the ministry "plays a leading role in the success of this path."
On their part, the participants emphasized the importance of enhancing international mobilization of expertise, grants, and capacities to support reconstruction and development projects, and launching a national statistics program that contributes to establishing a comprehensive database on development needs.
The participants also stressed the need to empower local councils to ensure their active participation in development plans, improve infrastructure, increase green spaces, address water and waste issues, serving the achievement of sustainable development at the governorate level.
