Argentinian star Lionel Messi is reportedly considering a return to FC Barcelona starting from next season, after his contract with Inter Miami in the United States expires at the end of 2025 with no plans for renewal yet.
According to journalist "Alex Candal" on the Argentine channel "Dsport," Messi has shown great interest in Barcelona's new project, especially with the upcoming inauguration of the renovated Camp Nou stadium.
In the summer of 2021, Barcelona fans were shocked by Messi's departure from the club in one of the saddest moments in its history. The Blaugrana officially announced Messi's departure due to the financial crisis affecting the club and the management's inability to register his new contract within La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules.
After spending over 20 years at Camp Nou, Messi bid farewell to the club where he grew up, becoming its all-time leading scorer and most prominent legend. He played 778 matches, scored 672 goals, and won over 35 titles, including the UEFA Champions League (4 times) and the Spanish League (10 times).
Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and after two seasons, he moved to experience American football with Inter Miami.
