Madonna Calls on the Pope to Visit Gaza: "Children Are Dying.. Time is Running Out"

Global artist Madonna has called on Pope Leo XIV to visit the Gaza Strip to help save children affected by the worsening humanitarian crisis, emphasizing that "time is tight".
The "Queen of Pop" made her appeal through a post on the "X" platform on Monday evening, writing: "You are the only one among us who cannot be prevented from entering," referring to the urgent need for the opening of crossings for aid. She added: "We need to fully open the doors for humanitarian aid to save these innocent children. There is no more time left".
Madonna (65 years old) revealed her intention to donate to organizations working in Gaza on the occasion of her son Rocco Ritchie’s 25th birthday on Monday, considering this step as the "best gift" she could give. She wrote: "I feel that the best gift I can give him as a mother is to ask everyone to do their utmost to help save the innocent children caught in the crossfire in Gaza".
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, reacted to Madonna's post, praising her stance. He tweeted: "Thank you, Madonna, for your compassion, solidarity, and commitment to caring for all those affected by the Gaza crisis, especially children. This is of utmost importance". He also praised the need for "humanity and peace" to prevail.
It is worth noting that Pope Leo XIV (the first from the United States) was elected on May 8, succeeding Pope Francis, and has called since his inauguration for an end to the "brutality of war". In July, he said: "I urge the international community to respect humanitarian law and the duty to protect civilians, as well as to prohibit the indiscriminate use of force and the forced mass displacement of populations in the Gaza Strip".
