Macron to Britain in First Visit by European Leader to London Since 'Brexit'

French President Emmanuel Macron begins a 3-day state visit to Britain today, Tuesday, at the invitation of King Charles III, in the first visit by a European head of state to the United Kingdom since its exit from the European Union (Brexit) and the first official visit by a European leader since Charles ascended the throne.
The visit comes amid a noticeable rapprochement between Paris and London after years of tension following Brexit, signaling the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's government's desire to 'reset' relations with Europe.
President Macron is accompanied by his wife Brigitte, and they are expected to be welcomed by the Crown Prince William and his wife Princess Kate upon their arrival at RAF Northolt before heading to Windsor Castle.
