Lebanese Prime Minister Condemns Hezbollah's Armed Parades in Beirut

Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, condemned the armed parades witnessed in the streets of the capital Beirut over the past two days, describing them as "unacceptable in any form or under any pretext".
This came in a tweet posted by Mikati on the "X" platform on Saturday, July 5, where he pointed out that these actions contradict public security and the law, without mentioning any party by name, in a clear reference to what Hezbollah elements did in an armed parade in the Red Zone and its surroundings on Friday evening.
The Prime Minister added that he had "contacted the Ministers of Interior and Justice and asked them to take all necessary measures to enforce the applicable laws and to arrest the perpetrators and refer them for investigation".
This statement comes after a wave of political and popular condemnation following the appearance of masked and armed groups in the streets of Beirut, raising fears of a return to a state of security chaos and memories of the civil war.
