Lebanese Minister of Justice: Qassem's Speech is a Dangerous Development Threatening Internal Stability

The Lebanese Minister of Justice, Adel Nassar, considered that the statements of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, represent a dangerous shift that places Lebanon in front of increasing internal risks.
Nassar said in a tweet on the "X" platform, today Friday (August 15, 2025), that "the threat by some to destroy Lebanon in defense of their weapon puts an end to the notion that the weapon is for the defense of Lebanon".
Qassem had directed, during a speech he delivered at a religious occasion, sharp criticisms of the Lebanese government, holding it responsible for what he described as "facilitating the killing of its partners in the homeland". He added: "Either we live together or peace be upon the world", calling on the state to stop what he considered to be serving Israeli and American projects.
Qassem affirmed that the enemies of the resistance are "cowards and incapable", warning of attempts to "overthrow Lebanon" and accusing the government of working to protect its own interests instead of maintaining the country's interest.
