The Lebanese Foreign Ministry: We remind Iran to pay attention to the issues of its people instead of interfering in matters that do not concern it

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry said today, Saturday, that we condemn the statements of the Iranian Supreme Leader's advisor, which constitute a blatant and unacceptable interference in our internal affairs.

In a statement, the ministry added: "The state will not allow any foreign party to speak on its behalf or claim the right of guardianship over its sovereign decisions."

It continued: "We remind the leadership in Tehran that it is more appropriate for Iran to pay attention to the issues of its people instead of interfering in matters that do not concern it."

It affirmed that the state will respond in accordance with customs to any attempt to undermine the dignity of its decisions or incite against them.

Iranian Supreme Leader's advisor Ali Shamkhani had challenged the Lebanese and Iraqi governments, stating that Iran opposes the disarmament of Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq.

Shamkhani added earlier on Saturday: "Disarming Hezbollah is the will of America and Israel only, and disarming Hezbollah is a dream that will not be realized, and we will not allow the disarmament of Hezbollah in Lebanon or the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq."
