Lavrov Sparks Controversy in Alaska with a Soviet 'Sweatshirt' During the US-Russia Summit - Is It a Message?

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov drew attention upon his arrival in Alaska for the scheduled US-Russia summit on Friday, by choosing an outfit that sparked widespread controversy in the media and on social networks.
Lavrov, 75 years old, wore a white sweatshirt adorned with the letters "CCCP", the abbreviation for the former Soviet Union, under a sleeveless jacket, in a look described by some as "historic and controversial".
Russian media suggests that the sweatshirt may be a symbolic message, either mocking the American host on his own turf, or signaling the former Soviet republics, including Ukraine, which will be one of the main issues on the summit's agenda.
Despite the controversy, this fashion reflects a new trend in Moscow, where clothing bearing the logos of the former Soviet Union has become trendy among both youth and adults, giving Lavrov's choices a cultural and artistic dimension alongside their political symbolism.
