Lara Trump Announces Withdrawal from Congressional Race

Lara Trump, the wife of President-elect Donald Trump's son, announced on Saturday her withdrawal from running for the Senate in the American state of Florida, putting an end to speculation about the possibility of replacing Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who was selected to serve as the Secretary of State in the upcoming administration.
Lara wrote on the social media platform "X": After much thought and contemplation, and after receiving a lot of support and encouragement, I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration for the U.S. Senate.
Axios, an American news site, reported that this announcement comes after several media outlets indicated that the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Watley, is joining the race.
