Lapid: Apologizing for the Death of Children Serves Israel's International Interests

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid called on the government to apologize for the deaths of children and civilian casualties during military operations, emphasizing that this serves Israel's international interests.
Lapid pointed out in statements to the press today, Wednesday, that U.S. President Donald Trump is making greater efforts than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure the release of hostages, adding that adherence to international laws and acknowledging mistakes is the only way to achieve a political and moral victory.
In the context of political maneuvers, former minister Avigdor Lieberman is seeking to form an alliance with opposition leaders, including Lapid, Naftali Bennett, and Gadi Eisenkot, with the aim of drafting the fundamental principles for the next government, while both Benny Gantz and Yair Golan were excluded from the upcoming meeting, amid ongoing political attacks on Netanyahu due to the events of October 7.
