Following an official visit by Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shar'a to Kuwait, during which he met with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya affirmed today, Monday, that Gulf countries are collectively planning to assist Syria and support all efforts aimed at stabilizing its political and economic situation. During a press conference today with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Al-Hajraf, at the conclusion of the 164th Ministerial Council meeting in Kuwait, Al-Yahya pointed out that the Council renewed its support for the positive developments in Syria, aimed at enhancing its security and stability to fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people. Al-Yahya added that the Council praised the outcomes of the visit of President Ahmed Al-Shar'a to Kuwait and his meeting with the Amir of the country, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, emphasizing that Gulf countries are collectively planning to assist Syria. The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister also mentioned that the Syrian embassy in Kuwait is expected to open soon.
