The Kremlin envoy mocks some parties' reservations about the Trump-Putin summit

Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressed optimism regarding the upcoming meeting between Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump in Alaska on Friday, considering that this dialogue will contribute to enhancing global security and stability.
In a tweet on the "X" platform, Dmitriev mocked some parties that show reservations about the summit, writing: "Neoconservatives and other war advocates will not be happy on August 15, 2025."
These statements come at a time when European Union foreign ministers are discussing, during their video meeting today with the participation of the Ukrainian foreign minister, ways to deal with upcoming developments. European countries have called for the necessity of involving Kyiv in any negotiations between Washington and Moscow, emphasizing that any agreement to end the conflict that has lasted more than three years must include Ukraine and European powers.
While Russia imposes conditions that include Ukraine's recognition of the annexation of the regions controlled by Moscow, its cessation of receiving Western military support, and abandoning NATO membership, Kyiv rejects these demands and insists on the withdrawal of Russian forces and guarantees of Western protection for its territory.
Despite this divergence, it seems that the concerned parties realize that a military solution will not achieve the desired results, which adds double importance to the upcoming US-Russian summit as an opportunity that could bridge the gaps between opposing positions.
