The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, received an official invitation from the Iraqi President, Dr. Barham Salih, to attend two upcoming Arab summits hosted by the Iraqi capital Baghdad during this month.
The invitation is to attend the thirty-fourth session of the Arab League Summit, in addition to the fifth session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit.
The invitation was received on behalf of King Salman by the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, Dr. Fuad Hussein, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh.
The meeting included a review of the fraternal bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq, as well as discussions on the most prominent regional and international developments, and joint efforts to address current challenges to enhance security and stability in the region.
This invitation comes at a time of increasing political and security challenges in the region, giving these summits exceptional importance, amid aspirations for a unified Arab role towards key issues in the Middle East.
