King Abdullah II affirms support for Syria in maintaining its security and sovereignty

King Abdullah of Jordan reiterated his country's position of standing by Syria and supporting efforts to maintain the security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the country.

Today, Tuesday, King Abdullah met separately with Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, and the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak, to discuss the latest developments in Syria, according to the Jordanian news agency.

The King affirmed Jordan's readiness to provide expertise in all fields to contribute to the development of institutions in Syria and enhance their capabilities, emphasizing the need to intensify cooperation, especially in combating terrorism and preventing the smuggling of weapons and drugs.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan hosted today, Tuesday, a joint Jordanian-Syrian-American meeting to discuss the situation in Syria and ways to support the reconstruction process in Syria based on principles that ensure its security, stability, sovereignty, and unity, and to avoid interference in its affairs, meeting the aspirations of its brotherly people, and preserving the rights of all Syrians, according to the "SANA" agency.
